Position Summery

The main role of the position is to manage the process of cash disbursements within the company and to carry out postings in sage and reconciliations necessary to proper records are maintained for cash transactions

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Review cash payment requests received from AP for correctness so as to ensure cash is disbursed for authorized and approved expenditure as per company policy
Raise petty cash vouchers for qualifying expenditure and arrange for authorization so as to ensure that all cash payments are approved before cash is disbursed
Pass the necessary entries promptly in AP and CM module to capture all cash payments so as up to date records for reporting and control purposes
In liaison with Senior Accountant payables, do monthly surprise cash counts on all other petty cash locations in the company so as to safeguard company’s cash and that petty cash controls are being adhere to Carry out weekly reconciliations for all petty cash accounts so as to ensure that proper recording of cash transactions
Safeguard all accountable documents entrusted to the cash office and keep a register at all times so as to ensure safety of company assets
Keep the cash entrusted to the role safe all the time according to company policy and safeguard the keys to safes according to the key holding policy
Do a return for daily cash disbursements, reconcile to bank figures and reimburse onsite bank daily for cash disbursements

Minimum Qualification & Experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 3 years experience in a busy Finance Department. Knowledge of banking operations
