The British Council invites applications from qualified candidates for the following vacancies at its Khartoum office:

Customer Services Co-ordinator

Job Aim: To deliver a positive experience to any British Council customer by delivering an effective, efficient, quality driven and integrated response on the full range of Council activities and services in Sudan.

Main Responsibilities
This post will coordinate the Customer Services Desk at the British Council office in Khartoum
It is accountable for the delivery of high quality customer services to customers of the Teaching Centre, examinations services, and all other customers who have an interest in interacting with the British Council
The post manages a team of full time CS staff including rotating interns
Key duties are
Responsibility for the security of money received by customers over the customer services desk and its correct accounting into the British Council's FABS financial system
Supervision of all enquiries work including written and telephone enquiries handling
Responsibility for the efficient operation of the Teaching Centre CAMPUS registration system at the front desk, working with the Teaching Centre Registrar.
Monitoring and evaluation of our CS systems in line with British Council corporate standards
Monitoring and development of our Equal Opportunities & Diversity policy in relation to customer services

Essential behaviours

Skills and Qualifications
University Degree, postgraduate qualification is plus
At least 3 years relevant working experience in reputable, client focused organisations
High level of Arabic and English language (IELTS 6 or above equivalent) skills



Customer Services Assistant (2 Posts, 2 year fixed term)o


Job Aim: To deliver a positive experience to any British Council customer by processing transactions and enquiries about the full range of Council activities and services in Sudan efficiently and to corporate customer service and financial standards

Main Responsibilities
This post will contribute to staffing the Customer Services Desk at the British Council office in Khartoum, and to handling telephone and written enquiries. It is accountable for the delivery of high quality customer services to customers of the Teaching Centre, our examinations services, and all other customers who have an interest in interacting with the British Council. The growing Customer Services team includes 5 full time CS staff plus rotating interns

Key duties are
Responsibility for the safe handling of income received by customers over the customer services desk and its correct accounting into the British Council's financial system
Handling of all types of enquiries work including written and telephone enquiries to British Council corporate standards
Operation of the Teaching Centre CAMPUS registration system at the front desk, working with the Teaching Centre Registrar
Provision of registration support to exams customers at the front desk, working with the Examinations Services Manager
On a rotational basis, handling telephone enquiries to corporate standards
Compliance with our Equal Opportunities & Diversity policy in relation to customer service

Skills and Qualifications
University Degree
At least 2 years relevant working experience in reputable, client focused organisations
High level of Arabic and English language (IELTS 5.5 or above equivalent) skills

Special requirements for all Customer Services roles
Customer Services staff work on a rota. Some evening and weekend work may be required
