Position Title : Sr Accountant General Ledger
Location : Khartoum
Reporting to: Section Head, Financial Reporting
Scope of work
Performs a variety of accounting functions to maintain the general ledger in accordance with the Company's established accounting procedures and prepares the periodical accounts
Job Accountabilities
Prepares monthly computerized trial balances for all ventures on timely basis prepares routine and corrective journal vouchers and ensures that all batches are processed correctly
Reconciles and analyzes general ledger to provide supporting schedules for final accounts Prepares all necessary summary and detailed schedules for financial accounts for all the ventures and data required by the owners for consolidating their accounts
Maintains and reconciles the inter venture, current accounts monthly and at each updating and closing, and prepares applications for payments for the monthly settlement of these accounts
Checks and reconciles the interface reports including the Payroll and Accounts Payable reports with General Ledger reports Investigates anomalies and prepares journal vouchers for necessary adjustments/corrections
Prepares the periodical accounting statements and reports for the Government and partners and passes to supervisor for review and processing
Minimum Requirements
BA degree in Accounting or equivalent
6 years' experience in general ledger accounting experience or a financial reporting background in a public accounting firm
Very good knowledge of Computerized Accounting
Good knowledge of English
